
Cycling South Australia School Series Term 4: Road Series
About:
Cycling South Australia Schools Series (CSASS) is a junior racing program designed by Cycling South Australia to be a fun learning experience for kids. The program teaches them to ride safely by developing their knowledge, skills and confidence to start racing by pairing training sessions with events.
This Term CSASS is combining with The CSA Junior Super Series for Rounds 1, 4 and 7. These rounds will be a race only round, giving the riders the exciting opportunity to race on new courses in different locations. This term will hold four road criterium races, two hill climb TT's and an Individual TT, giving participants experience across a variety of racing formats.
Series Points
During each Round, riders will be put into an appropriate category and points will be awarded as bellow:
For Rounds 2, 3, 5 and 6, skills based coaching sessions will be given before the racing event by our team of enthusiastic and qualified CSA coaches. These sessions are friendly fun sessions to develop the riders confidence and skills.
CSASS Rounds Term 4
Round 1 - 20th October 2018
Victoria Park Criterium (Race Only)
Riders will race in the CSA Junior Super Series for this Round, giving riders the opportunity to be involved in SA's biggest race series.
WHERE: We will be located by the grandstand under a tent for riders to sign on and collect racing numbers.
WHEN: Sign on will be from 10:00am with all riders to be signed on by 10:30am.

Round 2 - 27th October 2018
Belair Hill Climb Time Trial
Riders will race against the clock up the Station Gate Climb in the beautiful Belair National Park. Getting a clean start is key to a TT, so riders will practice their held starts. Riders will also practice using their brakes in some emergency braking challenges.
WHERE: We will be based by the start line on Edwin Ave in the Belair National Park by the Playford Lake for sign-on.
WHEN: Sign on 8:30am for a 9am start

Round 3 - 4th November 2018
Victoria Park Criterium
Riders will race in graded criterium races at Victoria Park. With cornering ability being especially important in criterium racing, riders will parctice their cornering skills in sessions with coaches aimed at developing cornering abilities.
WHERE: We will be located by the grandstand under a tent for riders to sign on and collect racing numbers.
WHEN: Sign on 8:30am for a 9am start
Round 4 - 10th November 2018 - Cancelled
Unfortunately, due to complications in the approval process, this round won't proceed as planned. All entrants will receive a full refund for this round.
Round 5 - 17th November 2018
Belair Hill Climb Time Trial
Riders will race against the clock up the Station Gate Climb in the beautiful Belair National Park. This will give the riders an opportunity to improve on their time in round 2. During this round, coaching sessions will focus on descending skills and braking.
WHERE: We will be based by the start line on Edwin Ave in the Belair National Park by the Playford Lake for sign-on.
WHEN: Sign on 8:30am for a 9am start
Round 6 - 2nd December 2018
Belair National Park Individual Time Trial
WHERE: We will be based by the Adventure Playground on The Valley Drive in the Belair National Park for sign-on.

Round 7 - 9th December 2018
Saint Clare Criterium (Race Only)
Riders will race in the CSA Junior Super Series for this Round, giving riders the opportunity to be involved in SA's biggest race series.
WHERE: St Clair Avenue, St Clair
WHEN: Sign on will be from 8:30am with all riders to be signed on by 9:00am
Please allow time to sign on, see start times bellow-
Series Presentations will be held after the Junior A Grade race around 10:30am

$25.00 - Round Pass
Equipment: If you don't have your own bike, a hire bike is included in the cost.
