Cycling South Australia School Series Term 3: Track Series


Cycling South Australia Schools Series (CSASS) is a junior racing program designed by Cycling South Australia to be a fun learning experience for kids. The program teaches them to ride safely by developing their knowledge, skills and confidence to start racing by pairing training sessions with events.

CSASS Term 3 is specifically focused on track racing, exposing juniors to a range of events including Individual Time Trials, Individual Pursuits, Sprints etc. at the Adelaide Super-Drome.


CSASS Rounds Term 3

Round 1 - 4th August 2018

500m Individual Time Trial

Riders will learn how to perform a held start and get to know the feeling of riding the track. Then we will get racing against the clock in a 500m ITT to kick off the competition for term 3.

Round 2 - 18th August 2018 

Kilkenny Cycling Club Winter Track Series

We are excited to announce that Kilkenny Cycling club will be hosting round 2. This week, riders will be given the opportunity to race in whats shaping up to be a highlight round for this term.

Round 3 - 1st September 2018

Team Sprint

This week riders will practice their held starts, but this time as pairs or in groups of three. Practicing this skill will not only improve riders starts, it could also shave valuable time off their results as they compete in round 3's Team Sprint. 

Round 4 - 8th September 2018

Scratch Race/Elimination

Round 4 will see riders developing their bunch riding abilities. Riders will learn how to, and improve their ability, at moving positions within the bunch while riding the track. Building confidence in bunch riding abilities could pay off as riders will race each other in this rounds competition, a scratch race and an elimination round.

Round 5 - 15th September 2018

Sprint Derby's/Flying 200m

In the final round for term 3, riders will start the session by once again racing the clock in some flying 200m TT's. To finish the series, riders will have the opportunity  to score some valuable last points in the final sprint derby's. Through qualifying, riders will be put into groups and race against each other in some sure to be exciting sprints. 


Each round will run from 12.00pm to 3.00pm, broken into 2 sessions. Session 1 from 12.00pm to 1.30pm will be for U9 - U13 (8 to 12 years of age) and Session 2 from 1.30pm - 3.00pm for U15 - U19 (13 to 18 years of age).




$100.00 - Term Pass
$25.00 - Round Pass

Equipment:  If you don't have your own track bike, a hire bike is included in the cost.
